LEARNING & QUALITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
Tamim EL BASHA
“Bringing structure to the resources and expertise proposed by Audencia”
“In 2021, the team at the Learning & Quality Development Department expanded, welcoming new skills that made it possible to provide increasingly better guidance with processes, both internally and externally. The result was the delivery of many strategic projects, already in 2021 but also in the forthcoming years.”
85
submissions to rankings for Audencia this year

What is your assessment of 2021?
2021 was a particularly important year, with the integration of new members into the team alongside an increase in skills over a very broad range of subjects linked to market developments and expectations.
In equal measure with regard to teaching, rankings, quality and certifications, we had to challenge and restructure ourselves to allow Audencia to always be one step ahead, at the service of our learners but also the other departments. 2021 was also a year that demonstrated our resilience and will to overcome obstacles, in spite of the COVID context. There was no better test than the deployment of our strategic plan. In the end, I would say it was a really positive year with the delivery of several flagship projects: structuring of processes in teaching, the Easy Recording Studio, the Active Learning Zone, the Lighthouse project with training approved by an international body (Advanced Higher Education) of Audencia professors… In terms of rankings, we also witnessed an overall increase on the international stage and almost 85 submissions to rankings this year. Finally, as regards quality, we passed the Qualiopi audit for the work/study courses, in addition to the one for continuing education… It was a rich, dense and complex year which nevertheless allowed us to look forward to the years to come with confidence and a year in which our role as conductor of the orchestra, our sense of structuring in the service of the expertise we provide, is now fully bearing fruit.

What different approaches have you set up for maintaining Audencia excellence, despite the pandemic?
I would say that we used this opportunity of upheaval to take a new forward thrust and think differently about how we do things, because the environment was pushing us to do so.
First, we called our practices into question to refocus on quality for students. For each project, we have shifted our paradigms to focus on the students’ purpose and their experience at our institution. Then, at teaching level, we decided to stop thinking about the tools and start thinking about how they are used in order to see how they could be integrated into the Audencia teaching methods. The idea is no longer to increase the number of tools but to optimise their use by one or more of our programmes. This revolution came about after 2020, a year in which we had to work in a hurry and in an unknown context that made all the players involved over-react. On the contrary, 2021 allowed us to assert ourselves in order to challenge our practices to achieve the objectives set. Finally, 2021 marked the beginning of different understanding and implementation of data to serve our objectives and the definition of our strategic development vectors.

What is your vision for 2022?
I believe that 2022 will be structurally important year for our ECOS 2025 strategic plan. We have defined all our targets and now we have to deliver, especially regarding our ability to deliver.
Accordingly, there is a lot of work ahead of us. There will be a lot of teamwork, through the stabilisation of our new team and its new skills. It is It is important not to waste time and to keep the course in mind, in order to accomplish the demanding objectives presented both in terms of teaching and overall quality. In relation to ECOS 2025, the C4I project will pick up speed with The Shift Project. The idea is to deliver a student-centred framework that will have a huge impact on the school and its practices, for the development of our learners. In tandem, the artificial intelligence in teaching project that the LQD is piloting will allow us to explore what is possible through new tools, which we will put in place if, and only if, it helps us to stand out in relation to the competition… These two projects are just a sample of what is to come this year.

What are your objectives between now and 2025, within the framework of the ECOS 2025 plan?
By 2025, as part of the Flow project, we wish to set up new quality processes for the whole School in order to facilitate the renewal of our triple accreditation, but also our Qualiopi and France Compétences certifications…
The aim is to make as many of our procedures as possible automatic and to digitise as many documents as possible. In the scope of teaching, our objective by 2025 is to offer simple and transparent support for project management but also to provide adapted and innovative responses to teachers and programmes. Finally, we also wish to build, in close collaboration with the teachers, a distinct teaching method at Gaia, based around the skills of tomorrow.

What are your CSR commitments?
In relation to using digital resources responsibly, we advocate this method through good practices in everyday life, particularly in the sharing and conservation of digital documents.
This commitment enabled us to win the Responsible Management Award at the Digital Clean-up Week, an internal event at Audencia. More generally, we are working to broaden the skills of our students through courses on societal skills. We also contributed to the materiality matrix in relation to the School’s CSR issues. We contributed to elaborating the interpretation grid related to multi-capital accounting and the possible impacts on the database of international standards.
